28/30: Pulptastic

Ok, so let's lighten up a bit.

Write five short, one sentence summaries of a story involving trouble and/or betrayal.  Just something quick and dirty.  Boy meets girl, she leaves him for a better offer.  Woman gets left at bus station by her lover.  Bank manager discovers the vault empty and his car gone.

Time to write a noir poem.  Expand your sentence into a narrative, with seedy metaphors, slang-ridden similes and cheap thrills.  Imagine yourself in a cheap B-Movie extravaganza, living your life on the edge.  Roll out comparisons of a dame to... just about anything your mind can imagine.  Think seedy and cynical.

For an example, check out excerpts (not a complete piece) from Kevin Young's Black Maria here.
