Donny JacksonClinical psychologist Dr. Donny Jackson is a trainer and consultant for SHIELDS for Familes, the Creative Writing and Media Studies instructor for College Bridge Academy charter high school in Compton, as well as a Co-Executive Producer and Director in unscripted television and film, including “Teach: Tony Danza,” and “Perfectly Normal” for A&E, and, 2013’s “The Sheards” for BET and “R&B Divas: Atlanta,” on TVOne. In the written arts, Donny has enjoyed stints as an autobiography ghostwriter, playwright, and book critic, as well as speech writer for a diverse set of clients, from Blair Underwood to the Clinton White House. In the summer of 2013, he completed a 5-week run of his one man show,"One Man Shown" at the Greenway Court Theatre in Los Angeles, and has been an invited feature in southern California as a spoken word artist at LionLike MindState, Spoken Funk, Beyond Baroque,, Brass Knuckles, Glassless Minds, Elevated, Natural High, The Bakery Poetry Lounge, Esteban E. Torres High School, Piccolo’s,Tales by the Sea, Tasty, A Mic and Dim Lights, Damn Slam, Highways, The Definitive Soapbox, The Ugly Mug Café, Fig @ 7th Plaza, Red Stories, S.W.A.A.M., Still Waters, Word of Art, Mental Mondays, World Stage, Harlem Place Café, the Pan African Film Festival, the African Marketplace, Flypoet, and the Leimert Park and West Hollywood Book Fairs. Donny has also been privileged to grace the stage as a regular at Da Poetry Lounge for 8 years, in spotlight performances at InkSlam, and, Philadelphia’s Jus’ Words, Atlanta’s Urban Grind, Tshaka Campbell’s spoken word CD, "Skin," and, as a feature at the Mecca of spoken word, Nuyorican Poets Café.
